Amazon is censoring homosexuality by removing the ranking from them, thus many books will not show up on any search now because they have decided hat books with gay, lesbian, and feminist content are "adult books" and as such, we need to be protected from them. Some books are being removed completely from the Amazon search engine. And as will be shown below, the process is not being applied uniformly. This removal causes an inaccurate record of what titles are selling, and makes it more difficult for buyers to find affected titles, which means fewer sales. However, Amazon still has sales ranks attached to various adult toys. Read it all ... form your own opinion.

From Amazon:

In consideration of our entire customer base, we exclude "adult" material from appearing in some searches and best seller lists. Since these lists are generated using sales ranks, adult materials must also be excluded from that feature.

Hence, if you have further questions, kindly write back to us.

While I was not posting my book count each month I was continuing to read. I had hoped to break my count of 66 in 2007 but since I took about two months out and read only Fantasy & Science Fiction magazines while I was contemplating the move to Houston (something about me not wanting to clean Apis' apartment without his help and all his books being hidden away out of my sight ... ) that was not to be. I did keep track of my page total though, just because I'm silly like that. It came out to a grand total of 16,922 pages read. I reread a lot of old friends and found quite a few new ones, including my introduction to true Lovecraft stories. I have many friends to revisit this coming year and many new friends to explore as well.

Welcome:
Hello to new friends [info]samsausage and [info]caersidi! Both are from [info]therealljidol. I hope you enjoy your time here.

Birthdays:
Happiest of days to [info]apocalypsos and [info]neo_evolution. May the day be bright for you and bring you a year full of joy.

Weekend report:
Saturday we did some shopping and stopped at both Barnes & Noble (picked up Wicked/Son of a Witch combined special edition, and Blaze by Bachman) and Half Price where we found several wonderful books on the clearance shelves. We also wondered around Michaels for quite a bit looking at the seasonal stuff (Halloween and Autumnal only thank you very much, Yule does not exist just yet.) and at various other things while I let loose the creative muse. She has a lot to say on the subject of my latest project. The weather was perfect so we drove around with the windows down and the sun roof open.

Sunday we spent here at the house putting the last of the gaming stuff in the library and reading entries for Idol. We now stand at 1,380 items in the gaming library. We watched Cloverfield again while curled up on the bed. We spent time gaming as well and I finished up a couple dreamcatchers.

House:
Received another offer on the old house. Didn't bother to look at it before asking Apis to print it out for me to sign since it's really not up to me, the loan company has to approve it. The house is set to be foreclosed on November 4th if we don't have something working on it. I suppose that the loan company would prefer to have some type of sell

Plans for today:
More dreamcatcher work, I have two to finish up and four more hoops to wrap.
Watching the poll over at [info]therealljidol to see how I do; it closes at noon.
Getting a jump on my entry for this week and then being able to read the entries as they're posted.
Writing my post for [info]thebrenljidol

Hope you all are having a good Monday. (Yes, such thing does exist)

Welcome to [info]lordrexfear! I hope you enjoy your time here. *grin*

Internet connection is still up and down. I'm attempting to read, reply, and comment to lj stuff but it will be somewhat sporadic.

Since I couldn't amuse myself with net stuff I finished adding the last of the books to the library (minus the romances), exported it to excel, trimmed off certain columns, and set it aside to upload to google docs as well as a list of our top wanted books. I'll need to update my sidebar links to add that when I get it uploaded.

I finished wrapping one of my dreamcatchers so I can start the webbing on both of them as soon as the glue dries on the hoop.

On the plus side I've finally gotten my final dr appointment rescheduled for tomorrow morning.

Geek
Welcome:
Two more adds over the weekend from [info]therealljidol, [info]thenodrin and [info]kiwiria. Welcome to both of you, I hope you enjoy your time here. Feel free to poke around ... I don't bite often, unless you're one of my boyfriends. ;)

Books!
We spend the weekend mostly on the gaming library and adding more to it. We've now surpassed the 1k mark for entries in that database. My response to that is simply that we need more gaming products. I absolutely love the look in [info]apisanthrop's eyes when he looks at his shelf. I promised we'd get all his gaming things out and they'd be easily accessible to him and we're getting there. Also, thanks to the local Freecycle we picked up a lot more books last night; easily two big boxes there. The lady was moving to Seattle and had only picked out her very favorites to take with her. Since we only glanced at them before taking them all there might be a duplicate or two but we'll pass those on to good homes when we weed them out.

Moment:
He fretted at one point over me really wanting to stay with him. I told him to turn around and look at his gaming shelf. My gaming experience is limited to one single night of 2nd edition and a handful of 3rd edition sessions. I quietly told him that I'd have to stay around until he'd taught me how to play every single system there was and shared all of his gaming knowledge, even on the card games, no matter how long it took. I don't love him only because of the gaming bits ... but pointing out that I'm here until he teaches me everything he knows and everything he's forgotten reminds him that I'm going to be here for him long term.

Odd Issues:
We have power and from what I've heard we're damn lucky to have it. I'm trying to be calm about the odd bits, but it's frustrating. About once an hour the power will blip off for a second or two, never more than that. In the normal course of things that wouldn't be too huge of a problem. When it's causing three desktop computers to randomly shut down it becomes an issue. Also we keep losing internet. Comcast wasn't terribly stable before Ike blew through. Since that though it's going up and down faster than a cheap streetwalker . Another issue is that my treasured media mouse is having fits. The volume climbs upward or plummets, the track selector skips forward or backward, and the pointer skips all over the page. Over all it's all little things .. but they set off my OCD.

My Solution:
Since I do most of my reading and replying on the desktop (Goddess) and job apps on the laptop (Brigid) every time the power flickers I lose all the tabs I had open to read. So, I'm taking Brigid downstairs with me and hoping that yahoo stays somewhat stable. After lunch I'll see about adding some of the new fiction books to the library database. I have to wait for Apis to help out with the gaming stuff since it's not always readily apparent what system things fall under. But I can do the non gaming books alone and he can shuffle them into the library as he has time. The way I see it I have 5 weeks to get as much of the database stuff done as I can, because November starts NaNo again, and I really won't have time for it then. Not without feeling guilty for not working on the novel.

Music
Welcome to [info]stevietee! Not sure where you found me but I see we have some overlap on our friends list. Feel free to make yourself at home here and poke around as you like.

And on another note, at over 600 entries in the gaming database we have more gaming books than we do fiction .... this needs to be remedied, with more fiction. *firm nod* And, with only 14,542 songs (61.8gig) in my music folder I do not have nearly enough music. I shall have to acquire more ... after lunch. :)
24th-Aug-2008 10:35 pm - Weekend Recap [books, car, coh, cov, gaming, housework, weekend report]
Autumn

There was a party Saturday sponsored by [info]apisanthrop's work. It was good ... and wonderful to have an excuse to get dressed up a bit and go out. It wasn't formal or anything but it was dresser than a typical night out for us.

Quicksilver is completely legal again! She needed new wiper blades before the guy would pass her but he was awesomely nice about it and helped put the new ones on. I was scared that she wouldn't pass because of all the wear and tear on here due to driving across Texas a few times but he said it had actually done her a bit of good.

Today we've bummed around the house. Started off the day right with chocolate chip pancakes though. I tore apart my tote of miscellaneous sewing stuff and craft things. As I told a friend in chat, my sewing box exploded all over the computer room, technicolor vomit. LOL Now I know what I have though .. and maybe I can put it together and make something to sell from it. Last time I tried I was talked down by those closest to me, this time I have a supporter. I need to do 'something' to help out. It bugs me to not help, and keeping house just doesn't seem enough for me.

Still haven't found anybody to help out on my Virtue SG so it's slow going there. So far I'm the only one getting prestige for it. Gave it a rest for the night and popped over to vills for a bit with Professor Confidence then popped back to blue side to create a dark armor/dual blade tank for a friend's SG on Tri. He said he'd create a toon for me on Vir if he has room and help recruit for me. Such a sweetie.

There's been a bit of work done on the gaming library ... it's slow going though since we want to make sure all the little things that Apis is looking for is going to be tracked the way he wants. Eh, don't want it to take forever, but he's fairly happy and getting to go through his books. Plus, my first promise to him is intact, all his gaming books are out of boxes. He can sit beside me and look through them while I wander around various games and pause as he needs for me to enter the book into the database. We're within touching distance so we're both happy.

Off to bed now though ... I'm tired and want to curl up in my sweetie's arms.

5th-Aug-2008 12:29 pm - Storm Report [books, life]
Wolf Nuzzles
Yes, I'm in Houston so there was a bit of concern .... mainly by and for other people. ;)

It was raining when we rolled out of bed and continued to for most of the morning. It's stopped now though. It was a nice gentle rain, rather like what I'm used to in DFW during the autumn months. *shrug* I wasn't terribly worried about the storm anyhow. I've spent too many years in Irving with Tornadoes always going around where I lived. I'm sure my feelings on it will change if I'm ever in an actual storm but not really a concern now.

It's been a relaxed morning. We spent time cataloging the books we brought back from his old house and getting them off the floor. [info]apisanthrop is sorting them onto the shelves now. We're up to 572 books now, not including the technical manuals. No real plans for the rest of the day other than snuggling and such. Maybe we'll read for a bit, maybe we'll watch a movie or two. We've plenty to keep us occupied and I have promised him that he will have time for games and reading throughout our relationship.

In other news, he's managed to make sweet tea just the way I like it, it tastes like it did when I was growing up. *smile*

Dice!
That scream of anguish you hear is [info]apisanthrop ....

I've asked him to look through each gaming book a bit before we add it to the gaming library database to make sure we get most of the information he wants the first time.

Oh yeah, he's so terribly abused. I'm sure that delighted grin is just a mask. Uh huh. Really.

*laugh*

I think the gaming library is going to take a lot longer ... but if we have a goal of 5 books a night it will be more complete and functional.

I am never allowed to simply go looking at anything again. He told me that if I mention that I wish to go looking at houses he'll be very scared ... and point out that we can't afford it.

*laugh*

I would have just looked too but they had exactly what I wanted for the right price. Now I wait for it to be finished.

</cryptic>

In other news Half Priced Books and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream! We found 5 or so of our wanted books, on the clearance shelf no less. Naturally we also found several that weren't on the list but begged us to take them home, so we did ... for some of them. I'll add them to the database tomorrow and [info]apisanthrop will make room for them on the shelves.

As for ice cream, I had the Coconut Seven Layer Bar and Creme Brulee and he had Chocolate Therapy with Mint Chocolate Chunk.

I have books. I have had ice cream. Now I go off to have boyfriend.

And the catlogging is complete at 429 books ... for now.

We have a list of books to buy. It's smallish for now, mostly the next ones in series or special memories by certain authors.

We still have an assorted list of things to get done, including some time in City, and hopefully a trip to the pool by Miss Kid's request.

I've never owned this many books. I'm filled with happy fuzzies every time I walk into the dining room and see the bookshelves.

Everything's coming together, everything will work out just fine.

So, we've been cataloging the books and putting them on the shelves. We reached 122 last night. That's only A-F.

*eyes the corner where all the other books are stacked*

Wow .... We've got a 'lot' of books!

We would have gotten a lot further but it was about that time that I realized the way we had the shelves meant that we'd need nearly 10 more shelf units to get them all put away. We can't afford that many more shelves and we don't have the room for all of them either. So I pulled up the mental auto cad and did a bit of rearranging. With profuse apologies to [info]apisanthrop I explained the space issues and where I wanted the shelves moved too ... and all the moving of other boxes that would have to happen before we could do that. All three of us jumped in to get stuff moved around; though I did send the little one back to her reading when the light stuff was done. She later passed out on the couch with one of the Grimtooth books.

We managed to quintuple the shelving space.

Apis is off to the store to pick up two more boards to complete our wall of books. Miss Kid and I are going to bake brownies while he's out. We'll dive back into the books when he gets back. While cataloging the books I'm also creating a wanted list. A list of books that we would like to add to our collection; usually it's the next in the series or another book by that author that we just really want to read.

....

Yes I'm concerned about shelf space and yet I'm making a list of books we want to add to it. I suspect the same will be done for the gaming books when we get that far.

Finally, somebody that gets me. *grin*
15th-Jul-2008 04:50 pm - Lazy day [books, chatting, friends, geek, life, planning, respect]
Cowboy
It's raining outside, rather heavily from the sound of it. Nearly makes me want to find something to clothe myself in and go out to stand in the rain.

I've managed to do very little today. I ate lunch after rising at the ever so early hour of 11ish. I applied to jobs. And I'm currently catching up on LJ. I feel rather lazy ... but I can't find the energy to do much. I never seem to have much energy anymore. I feel as if I'm always playing catch up.

I think we'll change out the sheets on the bed and shelve the A's tonight. The books have been stacked up in their alphabetic piles all over the living room for a week now. I wouldn't allow the shelving to start until I created a database to track our library and then I didn't want to start while I was missing books. Luckily we found my missing King novels last night. Good thing too or I would have had to hurt somebody. It was the majority of my hardback King novels. We can't have me loosing those.

I got a chance to talk with a friend last week and it really helped me solidify my issues over a particular quandary. [info]popfiend has a wonderful habit of pointing out the painfully obvious and making it not hurt quite so much. I'm glad that makes time to chat with me now and again. His advice is always spot on, though he never says anything my heart hasn't already said once or a million times already.

We visited some friends this weekend. They'd called to see if maybe we could help them with a computer issue. Their Dell was not seeing the integrated network card. I managed to fix it. While I was happy that I got things working, I was far more impressed with Apis and them. I was actually spoken to about the issue with the thought that I would have an idea of how to fix it. I was not talked down to or treated like a pet that needs to be pushed back into the corner. Apis didn't jump to the front and try to do it all because the man should be smarter than the woman. He allowed me to troubleshoot the problem and helped out as he could. That means far more to me than having the geek knowledge necessary to fixing their system.

28 read .... Like I needed more proof I was abnormal. ;) Technically it should be 29.5 since I read the first book of Tolkien trilogy and half of the second one ... that was about as far as I could force myself. Maybe I'll try again someday. And most of the ones that should have been read in school I found and read long before they were assigned; I usually surprised my teachers by the variety of books that passed through my hands. As for ones I'd like to read, I see no point in italicizing the whole list.

My Favorite 'Childhood Memory'

As I look back upon my childhood and think upon the happy times, I find that they all have a common theme. The written word is what ties all my memories together.

As a very young girl I remember my nightly ritual with my great grandfather. Before dinner he would read the daily paper, after dinner was my time. He would set aside the comic's section just for me because even then I was an anal retentive child and wanted the edges to line up just so when I folded the paper. I would crawl into his lap and I would follow his finger as he would read the comics aloud to me. It became a game, would I notice when he skipped an entire panel? Better yet, would I catch that he had skipped a single word? I almost always did. I remember the happiness I felt as we shared our special moment every night.

I still remember being the first child in my Kindergarten class to read, something they didn't teach at that level. I took one of my favorite books to school for show and tell. My teacher thought I would simply repeat what I'd memorized of the story and what I could draw from the pictures. I heard her talking to my great grandmother after class that day, she had been amazed when she'd walked behind me as I was reading to the class and realized that I was indeed reading the story, word for word. I think that was one of the very few times that I felt like I had really made my Nanny proud of me.

As I grew older and branched out on my own I would occasionally come across a word that I couldn't figure out on my own by using the context. I often took those words to Nanny and asked her what they meant. It was never a case of simply telling me what they meant. She would pull out the dictionary and we would look the word up together. Before long I was going to the dictionary on my own and eventually I had my own copy as we had worn hers to tatters.

By the time I reached junior high I was finally allowed to go to the library by myself. We only lived three blocks away so I was allowed to walk up there and back alone. Considering I was the baby of the family and very over protected, that was a huge deal to me. At least once a week I would gather up all my books, and by this time I was well into Stephen King and the like, so they weren't the typical rather thin young adult novels, and carry them up to the library. The ladies behind the desk knew me well by then and I was always greeted with a smile. I think I was one of the few that treated the books with as much care as they did, pointing out loose pages and such. I would pick out at least 5 friends and check them out for a week. The trip home was always with my nose buried between pages as I navigated my way back downhill, around trees, and through crosswalks. The reading while walking skill served me well in high school as I would often make my way through the crowded halls with a book in front of my face. Several teachers commented that they were surprised I never fell down the stairs while so occupied. No, for some reason I seemed to only do that when I didn't have a book in my hand.

Books were my best friends in a world that I didn't understand.

Yeah, it's not so much considering my past list and my typical number covered in a month but now that I actually have things to do (most days) at work my reading time is limited to dinner and while my game zones load in City. But hey, you know what? I'm extremely proud that I finished the Encyclopedia, I've been reading it off and on all year while reading other things. It was one of my goals and I got there. Now I need to focus on November though and start figuring out some type of plan for NaNoWriMo so I think that will probably be the end of my truly heavy reading for this year.

What books am I reading at the moment?

I've been hauling The Element Encyclopedia of Witchcraft by Judika Illes to work with me. I've been working my way through it all year in between other books and projects; at 855 pages of somewhat dry information it's a bit of a push at times. Upstairs I have In Celebration of Lammas Night created by Mercedes Lackey and edited by Josepha Sherman. It's a collection of short stories based on the song Lammas Night that Lackey wrote which in ends in a Lady and the Tiger type of way. Downstairs, when I actually eat dinner down there, Thomasina by Marianne Willman; light historical romance is always a good dinner companion.

The dog child has crawled out from under the covers now and is laying in the middle of the bed. She looks up eagerly when I pass by the door. "Coming back to bed yet?" "No child, I've stuff to do." And she puts her head back down with a great sigh because, obviously, I'm a horrible mommy. *grin*

Kiss this
And I don't mean on my rosy red lips
Me and You, oh we are through
And there's only one thing left for you to do
You just come on over here one last time
Pucker up and close your eyes, and kiss this...good bye

My computer knows me so well. The first song to play when I got back upstairs was appropriate.

It probably shouldn't piss me off so much that he decided to do a bit of tree trimming in the back yard, without asking me. It was low and in the way of his mowing. Good thing I went out there when I did or my tree would be missing a few more limbs. He was rather upset that I wouldn't let him cut down more than the one he did. And the only reason he got that one was because he was half way through it when I walked out there and couldn't tell what he was doing from the house. At least he's mowing the yard. I probably shouldn't be ticked that his friend took books off the shelves without telling me. I agree that some of the books on the shelf were on loan from the friend, and needed to be returned, but I don't like or trust that friend, I would have preferred to know about it in advance. [info]lackland knows this. Lackland tried to tell me that the gaps in the books on the shelf have been there for a while now. And I'd probably buy that, if it wasn't for the fact that I've been hitting Half Price Books and every time I finish a book I have to make room on the bookcase since I've got them all alphabetized. Lackland said that his friend only took 6 books, but there's more gaps than that.

I get the feeling I'm being played for a fool.
31st-May-2007 04:57 pm - Productive I be [books, house repair, local boy]
Sum Up

I have managed to do everything I wanted to. :)

The boss man said if we wanted to bug out at noon or so we could since there was no work coming in and then he left at 10 to head to the show in Vegas. So, realizing that I had several things that I wanted to do. I gave [info]lackland a call to see if he wanted to head out with me. He said yes as he wanted to see about stopping a couple places too. After a nice, if a bit loud (I always forget when the schools do half days for end of classes), lunch at Taco Bell we started working our way through the to do list.

The second set of documents are now on their way to the clerks office in Dallas. There's a little package heading for Miss [info]elfwench too, so keep an eye out for it Sweetie. I dropped some books off at Half Price Books and naturally picked some more up. Then we acquired lattice and a new entryway light at Home Depot. The dome on the old one broke when [info]lackland was replacing the light but on the plus side this one is prettier. The lattice is going up on the front porch for the ivy to crawl up and make a bit of a shady sitting area. I'll have to grab the camera and take a few before and after pictures before we get to puttering around.

Okay, now that I've cooled off a bit and don't feel like I'm about to pass out I'm going to find clothes so I can help move the ivy out of the way and put up it's new clinging surface.

Also: Yes, I did get to see my Boy yesterday. He's currently on his way to training and I'll let you know when he gets there safely if he doesn't post.

30th-Jul-2006 11:51 pm - Shell shocked [blogathon 2006, books, planning, shopping]
Autumn Wolf
I've pretty much slept off and on all day. I didn't really expect that. Seems like every time I sit down for more than a minute I'm dozing off.

I'm still so impressed that I did it. I sit back and don't do things because I'm afraid but I didn't let that stop me this time. I'm so proud of me. I'm never proud of me, I'm not that special in my own eyes. I get the impression sometimes that I'm the invisible girl. Most of the time that's ok too but I'm really glad I stepped out of the corner this one time. I did a good thing and that makes me happy.

I did manage to get out of the house today. [info]13jamie and I had made plans to do a bit of shopping and I didn't want to beg out of it due to exhaustion. We made a run down to Flight, not realizing that the hours had changed and he's now closed on Sundays. Aw well, we can go another weekend. The stuff I need isn't urgent, nor is it likely to become so in the next week or two. We also stopped by Half Price because I wanted to locate Friday by Robert Heinlein as we'd had it at one point and lost it in a move. I'd also promised to grab a book for a friend if I found what he was looking for. I didn't locate my book there but I did get A Year of Ritual Sabbats & Esbats for Solitaries & Covens by Sandra Kynes, Elminster, The Making of a Mage by Ed Greenwood, and The Dark Elf Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore. Since J hadn't found what he was looking for I suggested stopping by Barnes & Nobel since it was just across the street. There I did find my Heinlein book as well as Alta by Mercedes Lackey which I'd been looking for off and on for the past three years. We then rounded off our trip with Home Depot and Lowe's to get the last stuff needed for the house repairs.

Since I'm almost done with my current book I'll have to decide if I finish the series since it only has one more book or start one of my new books. I think I'll finish this series and since I recently read Joust which was the precursor to Alta I'll follow up with that.

Speaking of books, don't forget that it's not too late to sponsor me for blogathon. You don't even have to pay now, you promise to pay and can do so next month. How great is that! Sponsor Me, please! The deadline for all promises of donations will be on Monday night though, so head over there quickly if you haven't already.

I'm heading off to bed now as I'm still wiped out from the festivities of blogathon.

I could give some trite answer about helping others. But see, it's more than that.

I was raised by my great grandparents. I used to crawl in Grandad's lap every evening and he would read the comics to me. My eyes would eagerly follow his finger over the words as he spoke them. I soaked in every bit of knowledge I could. He would skip words to see if I caught it or not, more often than not I did. One night he was sick with a cold and didn't feel up to reading but he was going to try, for me. I read to him instead. This time it was my finger drawing under the words. He was patient as I sounded out the harder words.

I started reading harder things, books. I know I was reading before I went into kindergarten. I never had a problem taking a book to Nanny and asking what a particular word meant or how it was pronounced. At first she explained it to me, but before long she was handing me the dictionary instead. I found that to be just as entertaining as any other book.

I was sitting in the living room one night reading and flipping through the pages fairly quickly, I was seven or eight. Grandad decided I was flying through it too quickly and asked to see the book. I handed it over, he read the synopsis on the back and asked me what the story was. I don't remember the book or the story I do remember that I gave a fairly detailed explanation of the story.

Books were my constant companions. I carried one to the bathroom and the dinner table. In my early teens I walked to the library at least once a week to get more books, usually thick hardbacks rather than the youth books. By that point I'd already blew through the young adult books and found them boring. I took a bit longer getting back home because I would already be reading a book as I walked. That skill did me good when I got to junior and senior high school. I was the kid walking down the hall with a book in her face. Teacher's were convinced that I was going to fall down the stairs one day, because I never once looked up from my book.

Books were my escape. Books gave me wings to fly and ships aplenty to travel the seas. Books opened the doors to uncountable worlds. Books were my time machines. I didn't fit in with my peers but in the books nobody looked at me because I was different. I didn't even have to be the staring character in the book, I was happy just being part of the story. Books taught me why hate was wrong and how tolerance was love for the fellow human being. Books showed me why close minded people never grew. Books explained that our differences were not bad things, just differences.

I want others to know and share my love of books. Every child should have the same opportunity to try those doors, to see those times, to fly; even if it's only in their imagination. Sometimes, all you need is a bit of imagination to change your life. Sometimes, that's all it takes to end up on top of it all.

Sponsor Me, please! It's not too late. Give these children the same chance to soar on their wings of paper. I'm still at $15, I'd be ecstatic if we could make it to $20.

7th-May-2006 12:16 am - Comics and books [bookcases, books, comics, geek, household]
Autumn Wolf
We made a trip over to Lone Star Comics today to pick up free comics. I didn't go in because it would have just wrung this poor geeky heart out to see all the lovely stuff and be unable to get anything. [info]lackland was a total sweetie and got me a card box and protectors for my Neo cards that are stacking up and taking over the house. I plan on spending some time putting the rares and decks into protectors and sorting through the duplicates for storage; but, like all great plans, I'll probably never get to it. I'm such a procrastinator. *grin*

The other day we put together a second bookcase that we got and loaded the rest of the books on it. Now all my books are on the shelves and in alphabetical order. While I would love to get more books I know that we do have limited space and right now they look very nice in our little corner. Well, I could put up more shelves but that would mean having to pretty much get rid of my alter room and that's not happening.

I'm off to catch the last of Red Dwarf and probably putter around the internet until I get tired.

I just finished "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" and "The Restaurant at
the End of the Universe". I'm in the middle of "Life, the Universe, and
Everything". For our anniversary [info]lackland got me the six book
set from Douglas Adams. I'll write up my thoughts on those later.

I know that I've missed out on a lot of the geek stuff and I wanted to
know what else I need to read. Also, if you guys will let me know what
movies I need to see as well that would be great. I didn't see the Star
Wars movies until this year and I know I'm really behind on a lot of
things.
