"Maybe I've even forgotten what it's like to be in love."

"Well then let me remind you. It's the most wonderful feeling in the world. You walk around all day enveloped in this beautiful pink cloud of contentment and you feel sorry for anyone else on earth who isn't you. And if a tree should fall on your car or your house should burn down it doesn't mean anything more than a mosquito bite because you know that in a few moments you're going to be held again by the most loving, kindest hands that ever held anyone, the way you haven't been held since you were a baby. And if you're a woman you feel the most feminine you've ever felt, even wearing his boxer shorts. And every seemingly inadequate thing you've ever thought of saying is suddenly greeted with applause and approval and laughter. And every day the sky seems a little bluer and the sunset's a little more fiery and every living growing thing seems to be an unspoken celebration of your love. And there's this light, this inner glow that just keeps getting brighter and brighter inside you and the closer you get to the flame the more it takes your breath away until your hands and your lips come together again and caress and finally fall silent as one."
- Georgie Anne Lahti in response to Senator Strobe Smithers in Hearts Afire

21st-Sep-2009 11:45 am - Monday Awesomeness! [friends, wedding]
Love Tree

1st way my Monday is Awesome: I have pictures from the wedding. [info]zhent did a phenomenal job being the shutterbug for the wedding. I will be uploading several of the pictures to Facebook just as soon as Facebook stops being a twit. And, in the meantime, for a peak at some of the wonderful pictures stop by [info]zhent's Flickr photostream and have a look!

2nd way my Monday is Awesome: I was reminded by a huge crush of mine that the feeling is mutual. This makes me all warm and fuzzy.

Life is good.

14th-Sep-2009 11:55 am - Weekend Report [food, house repairs, shopping, wedding]
Autumn Wolf
It's been ages since we had a relaxing weekend .... so I made it happen, sort of.

Saturday we slept in and got around to moving toward the great outdoors around 2 or 3, though part of that delay was dealing with the plumber. The landlord didn't want to pay for the repairs at first, they they wanted to blame the plumber when he told them the whole faucet was rusted out and would need replacing, then they wanted him to take half of the bill off and just take a hit on parts / labor. We finally got that all worked out and he was sweet enough to grab a faucet with a hose attachment for me since the old one didn't have one.

Once he was gone we gathered up all of our gift cards cash from the wedding presents and went to Bed, Bath, & Beyond. Only three times in my life have I gone into a store with the intent to spend several hundred dollars, two of those times were for computers. I think we split quantity and quality right down the middle in this particular shopping trip. We're both very happy with all of the purchases we made. That in itself was a 2 hour shopping trip, oh my! Then we stopped at Wing Stop and had delicious wings. I was hoping I was full before we got to the grocery store but alas, I kept looking at things and thinking how good it would taste. *sigh*

Sunday we slept in again and Lynn made a quick run to the grocery store since we forgot a necessary ingredient for our omelets. He also brought back a pumpkin spice frappachino from Starbucks for me. This is why I say I'm spoiled. Then we spent time unpacking all of our treasures from the day before and organizing the kitchen. By the time we finished it was time for lunch so we nuked the remains of our wing dinner from the night before and curled up on the couch to watch Stand By Me, Daredevil, and Electra. Half way through Electra we paused to run out for free computer hardware for the 95 and 98 boxes we have. We tried stopping by Wal-mart to use the card we had for them but apparently this particular store was re-organizing things and everything was a disaster. The final straw was when I went to the bathroom and two of the stalls were out of order, it stank, and there was a line of 6 women. I turned around and asked Lynn if we could just go home. For dinner we threw together some pork chops in a spicy mango sauce and seafood pasta with a Alfredo Parmesan sauce and finished up Electra. I also redid the colors, banner, and default picture for the new season coming up. What do you think of the changes?

This morning I need to get back to job hunting and load up the two dreamcatchers I finished up this weekend. The carpet cleaner's been here and gone to clean up the mess the leaky sink left.

How was your weekend?
Bride
When last we left our intrepid bride she was .... waiting on the groom to finish up a few details.

Friday morning I picked up [info]elionwyr at the airport and I tell you, she was 1/2 of a fantastic wedding saving team. We made a run by the grocery store to pick up a few essentials, like coffee and then I brought her back here. While she settled in I got the potatoes chopped up and tossed into the slow cooker for dinner. Back when I'd first asked her to fly down for the weekend I asked what her favorite cake was. Well, I tried for Hawaiian Wedding Cake but I suspect that either I didn't find the right recipe or the cake she remembered was not as advertised. Either way it was a fantastic success and very tasty!

[info]apisanthrop finally made it home and we noshed on tasty brisket that had cooked in the slow cooker for two days with B-B-Q sauce, honey, and brown sugar and red potatoes with herbs. Dessert was a delicious pineapple and coconut cake. We hit up Half-Price books closest to us and took advantage of their 20% off sale. Once back home we took time to relax and make plans for Saturday.

Wedding and Shopping takes many words... )

And there's where I leave it since that's the end of the wedding day.

Special thanks for the weekend go to:
[info]elionwyr for being a fantastic friend and bridesmaid. She cracked jokes when I looked a tad too stressed and was overall 'very' helpful  in corralling the minster when needed.
[info]zhent for being a phenomenal friend and photographer. He kept the jokes going and even offered to serve us dinner when it looked like we were going to be ignored.
[info]flowing_dancer for providing activity books for the kids and doing the calligraphy for all the place cards.

2nd-Sep-2009 03:24 pm - The Waiting Game [friends, love, nox, wedding]
Nox - Standing
I have achieved clean Nox and clean sheets and while these things must happen on the same day they do not necessarily happen at the same time. Thus there will be no Nox in the washing machine. I'm funny like that I suspect. Hopefully the dog appreciates this little quirk of mine.

I still need to write down a list of things that need to be brought home from the reception but I need note cards and those are in the attic, thus I need Lynn to find them and bring down a couple. The favors need to be finished but I can't write the message on them until they are folded which is Lynn's department. The seating chart needs to be printed out but I'm waiting until Saturday for a couple of last minute possible changes.

I've gone as far on the custom dreamcatcher for [info]brigits_flame contest winner [info]stormdreamer as I can until some last touch color choices are made. Meanwhile I'm working on more designs for the store and the craft fair. I suspect that I won't be able to finish the custom until after the wedding but she's aware of this so all is still good.

Tomorrow I'll start the brisket for Friday night's dinner and make a cake for a certain somebody.

Somebody was a bit surprised that I was still taking time out to let my friends know that I was there for them despite all the chaos going on over here. This is simply what I do. I try to never let my loved ones or friends think that I have forgotten them. I've been there and I know how it feels. It takes only a few seconds to drop somebody a note or comment on a post and it's all about caring for your friends. This is part of what makes my relationships with Lynn and Mr. Boyfriend so strong. Spread the love my friends!

Bride

We picked up my dress last night and it looks gorgeous! I think it looked pretty good before but now that little tucks have been made here and there it looks fantastic. I have our vows written out on cards for each of us plus a copy for the minister. I have a list of things that need to be taken to the location the night of the rehearsal and things that need to go the day of the wedding. I even have a list of things that need to come back home from the reception. Lists are my saving grace.

Though it looks like we'll have to push the rehearsal time back a couple of hours. Looks like we'll possibly be doing dinner before the rehearsal instead of after.

31st-Aug-2009 09:21 am - Weekend Report [wedding]
Can't be Good

Miss Kid has been begging for me to teach her to tie her shoes since mom and dad wouldn't and the other kids were teasing her. So I did. She then started asking for lace up shoes since the only shoes mom would buy for her were dive shoes and the other kids were teasing her. So I asked Lynn to let her pick out lace up shoe and she picked out some very cute ones. They're black with bright pink and blue accents, black and silver glitter laces, and the word magic and some swirls on the sides. That was all while she was with us. She was back at her mother's for this past week and started school. I asked how the lace tying was going and was informed by the mother that Miss Kid had requested that her mother buy her something that Miss Kid liked since she didn't like the shoes we bought her, despite her picking them out and acting very excited to have them. Okay .... well, did mom buy the shoes and tights for Miss Kid to wear to the wedding like we'd talked about since we bought the dress? "I wasn't aware that I was supposed to purchase anything for her outfit." Okay, Lynn and I both remember asking you about that and you agreeing but fine, we'll have her this weekend so we can find something. Mom drops Miss Kid off here that evening, later than told and message to let me know that they'd be late, and Miss Kid is wearing black ballet flats. "Mom pointed these out and said that they'd be perfect for me to wear to the wedding so she bought them for me." (Why would mom point out shoes for the wedding if she didn't think she was supposed to purchase them? This doesn't make sense.) By this time mom has left. I mention to her that mom told me that Miss Kid had asked for shoes "that she liked" since she didn't like the ones that we bought her and ask if that was what she really said. "Yes." "Have you worn the lace up shoes at all this past week?" "Monday" "Why?" "They won't stay tied and it's too hard." So yes, this was how my weekend started.

Lynn got home and after looking at them agreed with me. They may only be a week old but they look very worn and in another week they'll look like crap, plus it's nothing like the style I'd talked to the mom about, something in a mary-jane type style, maybe with a bit of a heel since the Kid is growing up. All this added to the full on attitude Saturday night when we were discussing that we needed to make sure her school uniform went back home with her since she had limited shirts and we asked her to remember to take it with her. "Uh, my uniform is your problem, not mine." Said complete with attitude, face, and pointing finger. At this point I've simply had it. I tried talking to her mother about the attitude and she doesn't see a problem with it.

Other than that the weekend was good. We got Quicksilver taken care of and had a new power steering belt put back on her which also fixed the AC. We finally found the hair clips that I've been looking for to wear at the wedding. We drove out to the airport since I've never been and I get to drive out there to pick [info]elionwyr up on Friday. We picked up stuff to do my nails and my make up. And we made a trip to the grocery store to get everything we need other than what we have to pick up next weekend. There was a misunderstanding about picking up my wedding dress which precipitated a meltdown on my part. Child stress and attitude, wedding stress, and feeling like I was being put off ... yeah, I dealt with it all as long as I could but I hit my breaking point. I cried, showered, and moved on. Sunday we finished the flower girl basket, the unity candles, and got some packing and cleaning done before settling down to watch The New Guy.

How was your weekend?

Wedding To Do:
We worked on the list last night and ... crossed off nothing that was on the list and the list grew since we added to it. *sigh* On the plus side we have a time line of things that need doing and have scheduled it out. He's agreed that he can't work this weekend or next but everything after that is fair game. Which is fine. I'm just at that point where I need him here to finish things up and I can't do that if he's only home and conscious for 2 hours, including dinner time, each night. This weekend looks to be a very full weekend as I'll be cramming as much into it as possible.

Planning:
Today: Custom Air/Water Dreamcatcher for [info]stormdreamer
Tonight: APEX Army meet up on Justice, I miss running with the guys.
Friday: More dreamcatcher stuff and what cleaning I can do alone.
Weekend: Everything else and then some.

21st-Aug-2009 10:38 am - Errands Ran [wedding]
Bride
Yesterday was .... a day.

We ran a bit late getting to Miss Kid's school for orientation but we did get there and run through how her days would go. New school, new kids, and new world. She's going to start changing classes now so that'll be new too.

We chatted with [info - personal] flowing_dancer   a bit too, she's doing the place cards for the wedding and she picked out a fantastic bright glittery blue ink that works perfectly with our colors and will look gorgeous on the place cards.

Then we spent two hours looking for a store that I was hoping would have the hair clips I want for the wedding. We apparently went through at least two worm holes because I'd be watching the map we'd be going the way we were supposed to and then suddenly we were off the map and nowhere near where we'd been just two seconds ago. We finally found the place and ... they don't have them.

I'm very disappointed about that since 6 months ago I found them and agreed that we could wait to purchase them. They were still there 4 months ago and I agreed to wait again, same for 2 months ago. And now I can't find them. So, maybe my lovely friends here can help. I'm looking for rhinestone hair clips, they're typically little flowers or simply a large stone that's on one end of a corkscrewy twist of wire that you simply twist into your hair.

We popped into Michael's for some thread to finish up a dreamcatcher and then headed over to the court house.

I have a marriage license!! Plus while we were there we took care of the registration on the car until next year, rather than having it run out again in November of this year. Yeah, it was a little past due. After that home because I was wiped and the AC in the car has gone out so I needed a huge drink. Lynn went off to take care of some stuff at the credit union and that was the end of our adventures for the day.

This morning I'm looking for the vows I wrote up last week .. thank goodness for auto archiving chats and search functions. I'm still not happy with the vows the way they are ... they seem a bit 'too' generic. I shall have to tinker with them and see what I can come up with.

20th-Aug-2009 09:49 am - The Day Draws Closer [kids, wedding]
Autumn Wolf
18 days until the wedding.

We're going to pick up the license today.

And .... I'm moody as hell lately and sensitive as all get out. This is why I didn't want kids of my own. For three weeks Miss Kid's had top priority in decisions and I'm constantly feeling pushed aside. We can't have a conversation at all with her around without her trying to jump in as well. There was nearly a complete meltdown earlier this week as she got back from her mother's and decided she didn't need to do any of her chores around here or listen to anything she was told to do. She and Lynn had a long talk and things have been better but ... I wonder how long that will last. I'm trying very hard not to lose my patience but .... I shouldn't have to do what mom and dad should have done from day one.

I felt bad for her on Friday when her mom came to pick her up. I tried showing her mom the progress she'd made on cursive handwriting, (started with no instruction in it and in three weeks it's legible) and that she'd been learning how to tie her shoes since we'd bought her lace up shoes when we heard that the kids at school were teasing her about always wearing slip on shoes and not knowing how to tie her shoes. Her mom's response to everything? A deadpan okay and wouldn't even look at the papers that Kid had been practicing on.

Mom doesn't care so Kid doesn't see why she herself should.

I don't have time for this crap right now. Seriously ... if you can't find compassion, consideration, and care within yourself for a child then don't have them.

Happiest of days to [info]edith_jones!! I hope today is beautiful for you and the coming year brings you double the smiles you've brought me ... and that's a lot!

Weekend:
.... did not go as planned. We'd been planning and looking forward to this past weekend because it would be our first non-kid weekend in several weeks. We were going to have a wine and cheese day and curl up on the couch to watch movies. Friday night [info]apisanthrop had to work late and didn't get home until nearly 8pm. He then had to be up early on Saturday to spend another full day at work. The overtime pay will be wonderful to have but damn ... I was really looking forward to this weekend. Saturday night I treated him to some seasoned salmon and pasta with a cheese sauce for dinner and Sunday morning we dug out all the cheeses, crackers, and grapes. I made some queso and added chips and the chilled wine to the line up. We laid everything out on the table and grazed our way through Kill Bill 1 & 2. We didn't make it to From Hell since a stop to the store was very necessary before Miss Kid got home; since we were out we stopped in at the bead store for centers for my various 3-inch rings and Michael's for more 5-inch rings. We did a bit of play in on our Dark Alliance game though.

Wedding:
There was few to no thoughts on the wedding this weekend. We took a weekend off from planning and such to simply relax. Wedding plans resume today. 21 days left!

Dreamcatchers:
Since I had all Saturday to myself I got several dreamcatchers done. I've got four to upload to the store today so those will be going up soon. I'm really pleased with how much I got done. When I get them in the store I'll also post them to Facebook and Twitter.

How was your weekend?
Fairy Dreamer
With the craft fair coming up in a month I keep thinking of various designs that I want to do and have ready by Oct 3rd. I took a few moments and ransacked my stash of various bits and pieces that have been left over from last year's designs and such. After sitting down with Word and extra mini boxes I have figured out 16 different dreamcatchers that I can make, down to colors for each. That's not counting the 5 butterfly gardens that I'm planning or the various sci-fi / fantasy things I'm working out. I'm feeling better about all the plans now since I don't have a million thoughts flying in circles.

I think that's why the wedding planning has been so smooth. We sat down at the beginning of the year and marked due dates for everything on the calendar. We've slowly acquired what we needed and everything has mostly gone like clockwork. It's been remarked on that I'm remarkably calm when you realize that there's only 24 days left. I figured out a plan and I deal with things on that schedule. Yes there's always room for changes here and there and we've had to shuffle things around a bit but nothings been a huge deal.

Organized things make me calm.

10th-Aug-2009 11:30 am - Full Weekend [dnd, gaming, wedding, weekend report]
Dice!
Saturday morning was an early-ish morning as we had errands to run. We stopped at Wal-mart for shoes for Miss Kid. She needed new slip-on for just running around in and we found some very bright rainbow patterned ones that she loves and we also found a pair of sneakers that she really likes. She's been asking for lace up shoes since all the other kids have them and laugh at her since she didn't know how to tie her shoes. Her mom didn't figure it was important enough to teach her or provide her with shoes like she'd been asking for, she preferred to just buy the same style of dive shoes year after year. So I made Lynn buy shoes for Miss Kid. We also picked up the cutest wallet and purse combo for her so now she's not clutching her money in her hand, or leaving it at home, every time we're out. I grabbed the super glue I needed and a sales ledger for shows. Lynn jokingly protested about us getting stuff and him getting nothing. I started to reply but Miss Kid spoke up first. "Dad, we're girls, we're supposed to get things at stores." I cracked up and told her to stop reading my mind.

We stopped by the bead store and picked up the center pieces for two dreamcatchers and the jewelry store close by for a bracelet for the wedding. I think that at this point all I'm missing is the little spiral hair clips I want to scatter into my hair. We debated about going to Target or Kohls to look for the dress that I want Miss Kid to wear but a check of time decided against that. We had time for a quick stop in at the grocery store for spaghetti and other bits that we needed for the evening. Once home I cut up and tossed the chicken I'd thawed out into the crock pot with some balsamic vinegar marinade and Miss Kid started putting things together for dessert later. Lynn cut up apples and slathered peanut butter on them so we could all have a snack while working.

[info]lackland and his girlfriend, [info]laurajacobs27, and her son showed up shortly after we'd finished all the prep work and soon we'd settled down into game. Lynn, Lackland, and I are experienced gamers, them more than I, but everybody else was fairly new, having only a few games under their belts and mostly 4th edition at that. We started a 3 / 3.5 edition game and soon settled into a smooth group. We paused for a dinner of spaghetti and chicken followed by dessert of Lackland's favorite, banana pudding, diabetic friendly pudding no less. Many hours later Laura and her son had fallen asleep and Miss Kid had even given in to her sleepiness and gone to bed the three of us left finally called it a night as well, though by that time, 7am, it was really morning. Our 3rd level characters now own a keep and have several willing servants of lizardmen. Plus gaming is apparently productive for me as I finished 4 dreamcatchers and started a 5th.

The three of us took a quick 2 hour pass out, I swear it felt like a 5 minute one, and then enjoyed breakfast with everybody. We tossed plans back and forth for a bit but after doing a bit of searching online it didn't seem like the Katy Outlet Mall was really outlet prices so we declined the drive out there and they began packing up their things and we waved goodbye. Due to distance it will probably be October before we get together again for gaming but hopefully we'll see them all at the wedding.

Lynn and I straightened up the living room and we fixed lunch for the three of us before a cold wake up shower for the two of us. We gathered up everything I needed to take with me for the dress fitting and piled into the car for a drive to north Houston. The fitting went perfectly and I believe I'll love the final results. She managed to make it look exactly like I'd envisioned when I saw the dress online. On the way home I was watching for likely restaurants to go to after the rehearsal since that's going to be in that area of town as well and I spotted a Ross store. We turned around and happened to find the perfect dress for Miss Kid to wear down the isle as well. It's long sleeved but the seamstress working on my dress said that if we did find a good dress, given how hard a velvet dress is to find this time of the year, let her know if it just needed a few changes and she'd see what she can do so hopefully giving it short sleeves will be a quick easy thing.

It was a good weekend with good friends, gaming, and wedding stuff. Now I'm off to catch up on various things. How was your weekend?

Happiest of days to [info]ossie! May today be bright and may the coming year be doubled in laughter and happiness.

Wedding:
Great, now I'm having fears of nobody showing up. I suspect this is normal. We paid for 50 people to show up, invited 80, were willing to pay more if more people were able to come ... but now I'm worried that barely 20 will show. The minimum number that we can pay for is 50. *frets*

Worries:
I'm worried about Mr. Boyfriend. He's been out of a job for a bit and I think it's starting to get to him. Please keep him in your thoughts for a job soon. I can't say anymore about it as he prefers a quiet life to my loud and public way of being. (How he ended up with me and what he sees in me I'll never understand.) But hopefully the good thoughts will be enough to turn the tide for him.

Dreams:
Had an odd dream this morning .... anybody interested in taking a crack at it?

4th-Aug-2009 02:07 pm - Bridal Woes [wedding]
Bride

We're starting to get back the RSVPs and that is awesome! But, (you had to know that was coming) I've gotten one back with a name that I didn't send one out to. The first name matches one person in the list but the last name does not match what she'd given us before and it's illegible. It's not one of my friends but one of Lynn's.

At the car show I threatened to start putting in names like John ICan'tWriteNeatly and Beth WeCan'tReadYourWriting. Please don't make me do that to the place cards at my wedding.

This is why Miss Kid is practicing her handwriting every day, that and she asked to learn cursive since her mother is skipping her ahead in school and doesn't seem to care that Miss Kid isn't happy to be missing out on the things they teach in 3rd grade ... like cursive writing.

Please to not be making the bride give you the o.O face when she's trying to organize the seating plans.

Welcome:
Big hi there to [info]katscanx! She found me via [info]dydan's frenzy on Monday. :) Feel free to jump in where you like.

Birthday:
Happiest of days to three wonderful people! [info]siln, [info]twistersflowers, and [info]wookiemonster are all celebrating today! May you each have a fantastic day and the coming year be full of laughter and happiness for you!

Catching up:
I read back as far as I could yesterday before my brain melted. If there was something that you really wanted me to see or weigh in on please drop me a link. I got some dreamcatcher work done while I was gone this weekend so I need to finish those up with little touches and get them online. We received the guest book today so that's one less bit to worry about. I think I'm getting caught up on sleep but that may very well be a lost cause ... but oh so worth it for the fun I had. I did get my bags unpacked much sooner than I did last time though.

Dreamcatcher Contest:
There's a writing community, [info]brigits_flame that has some fantastic writers in it. I've been watching it since they started up and there are some really good writers. This week I happen to be running a mini contest and the prize is one of my custom dreamcatchers. All you writers out there should go check out their community and their monthly writing contests!

Lynn's Job:
He's passed the background and the first of two physicals. We think there's just one more physical and he'll be on his way to working but we'll see. *crosses fingers*

CoX:
This weekend is double xp weekend in City of Heroes. Make sure you're ready for a non-stop weekend of leveling and task forcing!

Helping Hands
Birthday:
Happiest of days to [info]greybeta! I hope you have a fantastic day and the coming year brings you multiple delights and reasons to laugh.

Welcome:
Hi there to [info]glassmouse13 and [info]esotericnnature! Feel free to look around where you like and comment as you please. Life is an open book around here. I hope you enjoy your time here.

Plans:
I'm busy busy today trying to get things together to be out of town for the rest of the week. Making notes for Lynn and setting up a brisket in the slow cooker to feed him this weekend. Yes he could simply cook for himself but I like doing this because then he's got a little reminder of how much I love him and think of him.

Wedding:
The bulk of the invitations went out yesterday so if you're expecting one then keep an eye out for it. Last night we picked up a the shirts for Lynn and the best man as well as matching ties. I think all that's left now is a couple small accessories for me and finishing up the favors and we're set. 47 more days!!

20th-Jul-2009 11:44 am - Leaving on a Jet Plane [question, wedding]
Bride
Apparently Friday was my night to super stress out about the wedding so I had a mini melt down after we went to bed and cried about trying to do something that should have been done about two weeks ago. And since I've still had very little luck with this I turn to my wonderful LJ friends.

I need a flight from the Pittsburgh Airport to Houston (any airport is fine). I need the flight out to be on Friday, September 4th and and return to Pitts on Wednesday, September 9th. We'd prefer the flight on the 4th to be around dinner time but we're somewhat flexible and even willing to take a red-eye if really necessary. The departure for the flight on the 9th is open on time but around lunch would be good if possible.

The problem here is that I've looked at all the flight sites and cheap hints and found nothing that doesn't end up being $200 or more after taxes and fees are added. Does anybody know where I can get a plane ticket for less or am I simply out of luck on this?

Help me Obi-Wan LJ, you're my only hope!
Bring out Your Dead
Weekend:
Saturday we ran a few errands such as getting a new tire on Quicksilver before it blew. We also stopped by and did our weekly grocery run. For some reason I couldn't sleep at all that night and kept tossing and turning. Lynn was sweet enough to go downstairs with me and play a bit of our Baldur's Gate on PS2 until we were both ready for bed. We ended up getting to bed around 5:30am. We then had to be up to take Miss Kid to her dance class. After that though we came back home and all pitched in to put the invitations together for the wedding. Now all that's left if putting stamps on the reply envelopes and addressing the large envelopes to mail out. We'll probably get them to the post office tomorrow. Yay!

Blogathon!
It's this weekend! [info]shadesong is doing an auction of awesome handmade items for her blogathon efforts over at [info]blogforbarcc. Auctions start today. Stop by there and see what items you'd like a shot at. I have a dreamcatcher up over there and the wonderful [info]conscience has donated one of her one of a kind dolls and this one is simply stunning!

Computer:
Thank you sooooo much to [info]kix143! The +4 part of the connector on the power supply did indeed just slide off and Goddess is back up and running just like before! *hugs hug of thanks* I love having smart people around. *beam*

Travel:
I'll be away from the computer for a large amount of time starting Thursday. I will reply to everything when I get back next week but please be patient with me. Hopefully I'll be able to get back on a semi normal sleep schedule before since I'll be busy, busy while gone!

Birthdays:
Happiest of days to [info]iroshi and [info]justkimu! May you each have a delightful day and may the coming year have double the happiness of the previous year.

Dreams:
I've had my first semi panicked wedding dream. I dreamed that it was the day of the wedding and the invitations still hadn't been mailed out, in fact they were still sitting at home waiting to be put together. Thus nobody was going to be at the wedding so I was running around begging everybody I saw to come to the wedding. Topper to this? I was at my high school and kept running into classmates and I still had to go to classes that day as well as fitting my wedding into the time between classes. Yep. 53 days until the wedding and I'm getting crazy dreams. At least they've waited this long. Though I suspect that I need to get on the ball and put them together today and mail them out.

Beta Request:
I have both of my writing bits for the LJ Idol Book written up and would like a couple people to read them over and let me know what they think. One is titled Love Addiction and the other is Almost Killed Me. Would anybody be interested in reading one or both for me?

Computer Woes:
Goddess died a shaky death last night. We believe it's the power supply given that she simply lost power and will no longer power on. Luckily we have a couple power supplies here and Lynn will switch that out after he eats. Hopefully I'll have Skype and my media center back up soon. I hate knowing that I simply don't have access to my music or information.

Weekend:

Saturday was a work day. We tackled the monstrous pile of laundry and got all of that taken care of. We also sat down and put together all the bouquets for the wedding. I'm really proud of the job I did. I have some flowers left over but I can either use those around the house or in dreamcatchers. After all that work we curled up on the couch to watch AVP then followed that up with some gnoll bashing on the PS2. Sunday we hit Michael's for the bits I need for the dreamcatcher that I'm donating to [info]shadesong's Blogathon raffle. Then we made a quick run to the grocery store for some basics.

Glass Feelings:
I asked for the address of a friend so I could send them an invite to the wedding. This was somebody that I'd always considered one of my closest friends because we'd been so close at a former job and afterward we'd made sure to keep in touch. I've been informed that because the wedding is in Houston she can't make it because 'every weekend is either walking or fundraising'. I was then informed that they noticed I'd tried to add her wife to facebook and that I wouldn't be added back because the wife only had 'her' friends on there and I didn't count (emphasis by her). I was under the impression that the wife and I were friends as well from all the times we'd hung out together. I knew weekends would be busy for my friend since she's doing the 3-day walk in November but I'd thought that maybe she'd be able to make it down here for one day, especially since it's a Monday. But on top of that to be informed that I'm not counted as a friend for the SO ... it was rather hurtful. I'm trying to figure out a nice way to respond. A small part of me wants to be hurtful back but I'd rather not hurt somebody just because they hurt me. Now I'm remembering all the times I'd worried that I was just a bother and the times that they'd assured me that I wasn't. My brain is fantastic at picking apart things and telling me how I was nothing but a nuisance.

Brighter News:
I've been asked to be in an art show for a Con next year! *bounces* I've already got a couple ideas about various designs to create for them based on the theme I've been given. I'm really thrilled about this.

Question:
Does anybody know of street fairs or con's in the Houston area that we can take the dreamcatchers to? I've been looking but not found a lot

Dream Wish Heart
Weekend:
Friday was a super busy day because we did a lot of running around. We went out to the wedding location and discussed a few details with them and made various notes and lists of what to take with us on which day. We stopped at Texas Art Supply and picked up purple and blue paper and a silver pen. When we passed by Michael's we stopped in and picked up candles and ribbon for me to make the unity candles. Plus there was a stop at the post office and the grocery store.

Saturday we lazed around until noonish and then I packed up the backpack to take with us. We went to Oyster Creek Park and spread a blanket to sit on. We had books to read and dreamcatcher stuff to work on while we were there. The fireworks weren't as awesome as last year but they were still pretty good. Plus it was really nice to just relax in the shade and be with each other.

Sunday was fairly non-existent. I was fairly wiped out from all the activity of the previous two days so it was a quiet day.

Catch A Dream
I managed to finish 3 new designs at the park and started a 4th that I wrapped up yesterday. All four plus one that I finished up Friday night are behind the cut.

Birthdays:
Happiest of days to [info]chevvate and [info]nigthshadewolf! May today be nothing but joy and begin a year of delight and laughter for you both.

Job Search:
[info]apisanthrop was going to contact the unemployment office and deal with them today as they are saying that he hasn't held a job in the past year (news to both of us!) but he was just called for an interview with a placement agency later this afternoon. So we'll try calling the unemployment office either after that or on Monday. Hopefully this interview will pan out with a good job though. *crosses fingers*

Wedding:
I tried on the dress again and it's obvious I've lost a bit of weight. But the main reason I tried it on was to see how much it would need to be hemmed after the addition of a few inches to my height thanks to the new shoes. It will still need to be hemmed but not as much as before. And looking in the mirror I saw it, the picture of how I want to look on my wedding day, how everything will come together .... I look good! *blush*

17th-Jun-2009 03:29 pm - Wedding and Words [about me, birthday wishes, meme, wedding]
Me
Birthday:
Happiest of days to [info]happypete! May you have a delightful day and a year full of all you can hope for.

Wedding:
We made a lot of purchases last night; the favors, the shoes, and another pen have all been ordered. Huge thank you for the link for the pen. Everything should be here in the next week or two. At some point next week we'll stop and get the paper and pen that we need to finish off the favors. I'm so thrilled that all the planning for this has gone so smoothly. This gives me even higher hopes for our future as we've been able to work everything out with minimum hurt feelings.

Words:
Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you. My words given to my by [info]bodhifox.
Fairy - Must be an evil fairy. *wink* I've always been in love with the fey and things pertaining to them though I do typically prefer the darker versions.
Playful - I love a good laugh and I try to bring a smile to everything I do. I've been told by a couple of my loves that they love my laugh, why not indulge that by having a good time.
Artist - The first time I saw this in relation to myself I had a hard time following that. Writer? Yeah, I've done that for years. But I'm finally getting to understand that my dreamcatchers are a form of art. I've always been creative but I'm just now embracing the artist part of my self.
Honor - I try to do the 'right' thing. I want to be treated a certain way by people and so I try to give that out. I don't understand people that have no honor because this has always been a part of me.
Dedication - If I do something I put forth effort to do it correctly. I don't like giving up on things so I often hold on as long as I can. I've called it being stubborn before but dedication sounds better. *wink*
Sugar Coated Lips
Recovery:
I'm a little caught up on my sleep. I wanted to nap yesterday but also wanted to catch up on net stuff and make sure I didn't miss a message from my friend letting me know he'd gotten home. I'm actually a bit surprised because I'm not in a ton of pain after a weekend of work. I was a bit sore Sunday night and exhausted yesterday but the soreness seems to have worked itself out (that is quite possibly in large part to the wrestling play last night). I think being tired is simply how I am.

Wedding:
This is supposed to be a week full of stuff. I should have started the bouquets last night but since I'm sill rather fuzzy headed I put it off. I I think so long as I start them this week we'll be doing good. The favors need to be ordered tonight so they get here in time. We need to get in touch with the Best Man and let him know we're going with a black suit instead of blue like he was hoping and we need to know what size shirt to get him when we buy them so his matches Lynn's. We found some gorgeous ties that we'll be picking up of for Lynn, the best man, and my dad so they tangentially match without being over the top. We can't get any word back on the feather pen that we ordered a month ago and we're starting to get a bit antsy. Does anybody have any suggestions on where to order a purple quill pen that I can have in time for the wedding? I'm rather annoyed that this has been so difficult. There needs to be a call and appointment made to set up the fitting of my dress and a stop made to Michael's to get the things for the unity candles so I can put that together. This all is scheduled to happen this week. I realize that I'm making things harder on myself and could easily go for the generic all white stuff that you can purchase everywhere but ... I'm not a huge fan of white and I'm not typical anyhow. Though if I have one more person give me attitude about me wearing a purple dress I may just beat them with their own arm. Either way only 83 days left!

Car:
The transmission has been replaced and Quicksilver is back to running correctly. I love, love, love that Lynn was willing to tackle replacing it. He and a friend from work did it this weekend while I was off admiring other cars. The previously feared high cost was much lower.

Welcome:
Hi there to new reader [info]scorpionice362! Welcome to the insanity. *smile*

Contacting me:
Since I've had several new people add me lately I figured I should put this out there once more. I can be found on gmail (ShadowWolf13), Yahoo (Shadows.Wolf), AIM (ShdWlf6), MSN (spryng13 @ hotmail dot com), ICQ (48522585), LJ Jabber, LinkedInFacebook, Twitter, and Etsy. I'm on the computer nearly all day. If the status says away or idle feel free to send me a message, I'll answer when I get back to the computer, or when my hands are free since I might have them full of a dreamcatcher. I use Facebook and Twitter as my link dumping ground so not everybody will be interested in that. Also, if you add me, please let me know who you are as I don't always match up the names. I also updated the Cast of Characters page on Sunday, it was a bit out dated, so feel free to check that out.

Weekend Report:
Friday Miss Kid hung out here at the apartment with me since she was out of school. After I got my online stuffs caught up we hit the pool and spent two hours playing around out there. We did some running around on Saturday for a couple of grocery store things and some dive rings for play at the pool. Once back home it was time for the three of us to troop back out to the pool. I now have a very nice tan going that for once looks to actually be fairly even, if a little darker on my shoulders. Sunday was basically a resting day. I cut out the coupons from the Sunday paper and we'll add them to the coupon spreadsheet I tossed together on Saturday. We're getting so many that it's hard to keep track of what expires when and what we have, this way I'm alerted about expiring coupons and I can easily check things before we do a grocery run. I'm checking on freecycle to see if anybody has a PDA they want to get rid of so we can take the spreadsheet with us and double check while at the store rather than searching through all of the coupons. It'd also be nice to be able to check the multiple libraries we have and avoid duplicates. I'll need something that can handle Excel and Vista so hopefully somebody will have something.

Wedding Update:
The painting of the flower girl basket is complete. All that's left is measuring and cutting the fabric for the inside. I 'still' need to finish printing out part of the invitations so we can put them together. I haven't a clue what my mental hang up on this is as the other bits were easy as can be. Though speaking of invitations I need to start contacting people that I don't have addresses for and get their addresses. This week we need to order the favors and make a call to see where my purple feather pen is. It's been paid for for two months now and I still don't have it.

Planning:
I need to clean out the fridge. We're running out of room, yet again. I really, really wish we had room and money for a large freezer. I need to see what I can set aside for Lynn to use next weekend while I'm gone. Not that I really think it will matter terribly but I know that some things are frozen in pairs and some are not depending on what I use the cuts of meat for and what size they are. I also need to work on a couple of surprises I have in mind for him to find while I'm off drooling over cars. Speaking of planning, I pulled up the calendar to check if we'd be able to make a birthday party for a friend's daughter and .... Holy Carp! We have a social life! At least we do this month. I don't know how we managed it but we have various things planned with other people. It's actually kind of awesome! *laugh*

Birthdays!
Happiest of days to [info]elionwyr!!!! I hope today is full of happiness and joy and kicks off a year of you finding 'home' and being surrounded by love more days than not. *hugs*

Also!! Happy birthday to [info]bzero and [info]ellyssian!! May today be overflowing with laughter and may the coming year bring you easy solutions to any problem you may come up against.

Calendar:
I keep looking at the calendar and holy crap! There's a car show coming up that I get to go to, we're going to a cookout with a friend, we have Miss Kid for a couple weekends, there's a D&D game set up. I need to finish printing out the invitations and put them together since we need to start addressing them by the end of the month. The flower girl basket needs the silver paint put on it and a couple places touched up, plus I need to dig into the material tote and pull out black material to line it. And we're supposed to check our favor choice and see if we can still do what we wanted to and either order the bits for them or go with something else. And then there's the bouquets ... I have the silk flowers now I just need to take this awesome looking mental image I have of them and wave a magic wand. Wait, there's no magic wand? Drat. Guess I'll have to do it myself then. And ... yeah, that's all 'this' month.

Shoes:
I have found the perfect shoes but alas, they are $30. Anybody want to buy a dreamcatcher to fund the purchase of gorgeous wedding shoes? *hopeful smile* Or tell me where I can find these ) in a size 8?

Blogathon:
I need to start considering a charity for Blogathon (July 25). As always I'm looking for an underdog, one that needs a little bit more love and seems to get passed over, but it's got to be something I can get behind and really support too. If you have one would you mind dropping me a line to suggest it?

29th-May-2009 10:30 am - More Bits [link, picture, today's find, wedding]
Dream
Yesterday was a busy day. We stopped by a couple different Spec's stores and picked up boxes to pack books into. There was a stop by the post to mail out a dreamcatcher and the rent check. We popped into a thrift store and snagged a nice suit jacket for [info]apisanthrop for the wedding; we'll pair it with a nice pair of slacks and a light blue dress shirt, and either a black or a snazzy blue tie. We also found a pair of shoes for me that may very well work for the wedding. I'll wear them later this evening when we head to Miss Kid's 2nd grade graduation. She'll start 4th next year at a new school since she's been doing 3rd grade work. The plans for the rest of the day is finishing up a couple dreamcatchers and getting them ready to post. I still need to figure out what I'm going to do with my dice box. I have a wooden box that we purchased with the intent to paint it and make it "mine". However, I don't think I have the skill to do with it what I want. I'd love to have various D&D creatures all over the box but I don't know how I'm going to manage that just yet.

13th-May-2009 12:09 pm - Hotel Room! [food, link, lj idol, picture, today's find, wedding]
Bouncy Jelly Neo
Only 117 days until we marry!! *glee* Yeah, I'm a wee bit happy about this. *grin* And we have a hotel room for the night of! Whee! We settled on one place but Lynn made one more phone call and found an even better deal. He's so good.

We have company tonight so a brisket has been in the crock pot since yesterday at low temp. The marinade is a mango habanero sauce and it tastes so good. I can't wait for Lynn to carve it up for dinner tonight. That plus scalloped potatoes in a cheese sauce and personal salads should make for a wonderful dinner.

LJ Idol:
For people who may have left the LJ Idol community, there will be a book published of LJ Idol entries (look here for information about the book and how it is happening and how items will be selected, permissions, etc.). My entries for Season 4 are here and Season 5 are here. I can't think of any off the top of my head but I may take a look through later. Can you think of any entries of mine that were really great?

We've started looking for a hotel room for the night of  ... and apparently it's harder than one would think. Even calling and asking about room rates is not clear cut as several of the places we called either couldn't or wouldn't tell us what the cost of a room for one or two nights is. This and the search for a flight down here for [info]elionwyr has been the two more difficult things of this whole wedding planning thing. It seems that there are flights from and to anywhere and everywhere for around $49 except for flights from her to here. Woo! The joys of wedding planning! Although, I must confess, I think I've had it pretty easy on the planning aspect for most of this stuff.

I stumbled across Star Creations, Woodland and Feather Nature Jewelery last week and fell in love with many of their listings. They list nature themed jewelry with a whimsical twist and sometimes the unexpected. The captured dragon various fairy items have really captured my interest. Stop by and check out their shop!

Dreamwidth is now open! Just like in the first days of LJ accounts are invite or pay only. Invites are free accounts. If you seriously want to check it out let me know and I can see about getting you an invite. DW is not anti LJ or any other such thing. They are trying to clean up the broken code and avoiding such things like StrikeOut before they begin. They differentiate from the people you read and the people you friend. Here is a list of code changes between DW and LJ; also, Diversity Statement and Guiding Principles. Also, if you're over there drop me a line and let me know.

Tomorrow, Saturday May 2nd, is Free Comic Book Day! Find a store near you that is participating and stop by.  ... Holy Carp! There's stores near us that Lynn hasn't mentioned before! I wonder if I've found stores he didn't know about. *hopeful* That and grocery shopping are our big plans for this weekend.

I've heard from [info]lackland (Charles) for those of you that have been asking. He's doing well. His health is greatly improved and his diabetes is under control for a change. He's got a lot of time for thought and reflection. He's still trying to work with his lawyer concerning details but, from what I know, there's not been a lot of change. He's written me and apologized for his actions during our marriage. This, to a degree floored me, I've never claimed to be blameless in our difficulties but I'm very glad to see that he's taking steps to own his actions as well. This gives me a lot of hope for him and his girlfriend. I need to write back to him with some information he'd asked for. If any of his friends have anything to add to his letters let me know and I'll be sure to pass the word along.

The wedding stuff continues apace. I need to paint the edges of the flower girl basket white and then silver so it takes better. Other than a bit of touch up though that will be all the painting needed on that. I have all the flowers for the bouquets, I think, as well as the wire to arrange them with and ribbon to tie around the stems. I need to sit down with Lynn and begin planning before I start cutting though. Most of the invitation stuff is printed out. I need to start address envelopes though since I want them all handwritten, though I guess I should unearth my pretty purple pen for that first. I think I know where our registry cards are but I need to verify so I can include those in the invitations. If you're on the list I'll be poking you soon for addresses if I don't already have it. Though, honestly I think I have addresses for most of my invites, it's Lynn that needs to be finding addresses. *laugh*

Today is the last day of the raffle over at [info]shadesong's LJ. There are some awesome things over there that you can win, including jewelry, knit items, custom stories, songs, and much more. Stop by and check it out!

Gothic Glitter is a steampunkish store with some absolutely lovely pieces that are so pretty and shiny. It's a perfect store for anybody who believes that gothic does not equal dark and dull. Stop by and check out her fantastic pieces.

Fairy Dreamer

It was a quiet weekend. We got a bit more packing done and organized the stacks of books to be packed. Hopefully that will start going a bit faster.

Saturday we spend a bit of time playing Rock Band so Miss Kid could try out the guitar she got for her birthday. She did a lot better now that she has a guitar that's more her size.

I found several NOVA programs on Hulu and we ran those in the background while playing on the computers and packing. The ones about the Mars rover were pretty interesting. I'm glad to see that some of the good shows are getting put up on Hulu as well as the sitcoms and such. I like the sitcoms but I also miss my Discovery channel.

I got some of the invitation stuff printed out. I still need to finish up a set of the RSVP cards. Tomorrow is when I'll start bugging [info]apisanthrop about finding addresses for his contacts. Then I can start addressing the envelopes and we can put the invitations together. Also, the flower girl basket is nearly done. I did the last coats of blue and purple on it and all that's left is the silver trim. I'll have to go back and do a bit of touch up on the base colors but other than that and the lining it's done. I should check my fabric bin and see what scrap black I have in there and if I can use it for the lining rather than buying a new piece.

Another awesome bit concerning the wedding: Dad called and we had a good talk and he said he would be here to walk me down the isle!! Yay! I'm hoping Step-mom and my sisters will make it too but he'll definitely be here. *beam*

23rd-Mar-2009 10:35 am - Weekend Recap [packing, wedding, weekend report]
Fire Dance

[info]apisanthrop came home after a couple hours of work on Friday since he was feeling so wiped out from battling this sinus crap that's been bugging both of us. So we spent the day ... sleeping. So wild right? *laugh* At least it seemed to kick the large majority of this junk out of our systems though.

Saturday was a bit of a work day. We made a stop by Spec's for boxes so that we can start the packing process. I figure that if we start now then we'll have plenty of time to pack no matter if we have to move at the end of June or can put it off until September when we can apply for a loan for a house. I also worked with Miss Kid to make the necklaces she bought beads for.

Sunday we started out to pick Miss Kid up from her dance class but didn't get very far due to a flat tire. We'll have to see about replacing all the tires on Quicksilver soon since they're all nearly bare. *frown* But we'll figure something out. Anyhow, we got the tire changed out with the donut and got to the dance class. After a stop at Michael's for more flowers for the bouquets it was time to head home and make the pepperoni chicken we'd planned. Given how much trouble we had re-finding the recipe it's time for us to make our database of favorite recipes and which book they're in. I did a bit of noodling around on the SNES with Super Mario Bros. after dinner.

My mind has started the semi worried rounds here and there about the wedding. Scared nobody will show up. Scared we won't have everything ready. Scared that something will go wrong. Worried that dad won't be able to walk me down the isle. 168 days is a long time and yet not. I'm fairly certain we'll get it all done in time though. I just have to stick to our schedule. Speaking of schedule, we have a few more seats free if anybody is interested in joining us on our day. Any travel arrangements would have to be up to you but we'd love to have our friends join us. Send me a message to let me know. The date is set for September 7th, Labor Day Monday. We need to have a finalized guest list by April 3rd.

I hope everybody else had a great weekend. Anybody want to connect through the Wii?

16th-Mar-2009 03:20 pm - Weekend Update [wedding, weekend report]
Bride

I had hoped for a low key weekend and we didn't do half bad.

Saturday, once we finally managed to get out of the house, (You going to tell me that beds are not made to roll around in? *raises eyebrow*), we went on a hunt for a guest book and pen for the wedding. We found a couple stores that were .... 'way' over the top. I'm sorry but there's no way that a book for people to sign a name in is going to be worth $60 or $90. Also since I'm wanting a purple book and a faux quill pen that's dyed purple it's harder to find it. I found a couple online that were closer to what I want so I think I'll be going that direction. That's the real reason brick and mortar stores are having so many problems. Why should I spend my time driving around town when I can go online and have more options for less?

We also looked for a pair of heels for me to wear to the funeral tomorrow since I figured they could do double duty and be worn to the wedding as well. Apparently nice heels that don't look like chunky tennis shoes are at a premium these days. I deal with the heels I have in the closet for tomorrow but I will defenetly need a different pair for the wedding since I'd like to be semi comfortable and a wee bit taller on our big day.

On Sunday we had talked about going back out to locate a Payless Shoe Source but the desire to lounge around the house was far greater.

We did get the most important things done though and celebrated Steak and Blowjob day as well as Pi Day. *grin*

16th-Feb-2009 08:10 am - Rings! [wedding]
Bride
One of the errands we ran this weekend was to pay off the wedding rings on Saturday and back on Sunday to pick mine up after they set the stones and resized it! This means that nobody can take my ring away from me. To me this is huge .... no repeating mistakes of the past!

11th-Feb-2009 08:35 am - Getting the Details [wedding]
Bride
We went by the location last night to leave a payment and get the details set. The centerpieces are picked out, all the decor is done, the food is selected, and the rehearsal date is set! Tonight we'll call the DJ and get that set up. This weekend we'll go by and pay off the rings since they're in and then the jeweler can set the stones.

I still need to paint the flower girl basket, pick out garters, finish getting the flowers for the bouquets, decorate the unity candle, and soooo much more.

But we're getting there! 208 days left.

9th-Feb-2009 02:34 pm - Silly Ideas [coh, sick, wedding]
Blue
I spent all weekend battling back this stupid cold. Thanks to [info]apisanthrop taking such good care of me and shoving pills and vitamin C down my throat I think I may have gotten rid of it.

I've been working on a build for Hestia, my Fire Blaster, and I thought I'd done at least a semi decent job. I asked for advice on it and figured I'd get some flack on it but now I just feel stupid for dreaming of an expensive build. I know I'll have to work to get the in-game money to do it and that doesn't bother me. I just don't see how ragging on me for the cost of the build is very helpful. Maybe I was silly for trying to wrap my mind around the numbers.

On the plus side we had the tasting for the wedding this weekend. The food was overall excellent but I think we've made our decisions. Now we just need to make an appointment to go back out there and get it all worked out and on paper. Step by step we're getting everything together and moving closer to the big day.

6th-Feb-2009 07:06 am - Ick [sick, wedding]
Blue
As I pointed out to Lynn this morning before he left for work, it's hard to taste things when you're sick ... and we're going to the tasting for the caterer this Sunday.

I don't have time to be sick, and yet I am.

I'm going to be tossing down vitamin C pills and meds and sleeping as much as possible today.

You know what's completely awesome?

Finding out that the ring you fell in love with for your wedding is 1/3 the cost that you thought it would be!

Hee! The deposit on the rings has been made. *glee*
21st-Jan-2009 09:50 am - Cake tasting! [wedding]
Bride
We met up with "For Heaven's Cake" last night for tasting and discussion of our cakes. We now have a design that will allow some expansion if necessary. All the samples we tasted were wonderful and I was terribly tempted to have as many of the flavors in the cake as possible but Lynn talked me out of. Silly boy. On the plus side we'll have the bride cake, the groom cake, and an anniversary cake!

My dress came yesterday as well. It's just as gorgeous in person and in use as it was in the picture. Now the search for shoes will begin. If at all possible I need to avoid a stiletto heel since I don't want to be forced to totter through the festivities but I've got plenty of time to look.

After the cake tasting we stopped by the grocery store ... and some how lost two hours! Good grief! neither one of us is sure how we manged that.
